White mold!

Ok so these pics are after treating I just use aldis listerine type mouthwash in water in a spray bottle I'll have to let it go show how well it works! The funny is it's the more established that had it worse

I also think it's defo time to try to get my room sorted so I can move everyone and have them in much much more light especially as I've had a few more fatalities one is the boxwood basil but plus side is some of the coyote tomatoes are looking GREAT! So if all is set I should be able to have everyone in Dixie's for a short time before it's time to switch to the red solo cups (all aldis lol) and I should be able to just move whatever's needed as needed tho I'll need another container to make my dirt in

I am still tentative but I think I will likely be selling atleast a couple of the coyote tomatoes esp having over 5 allmost certain I will don't know price or that has to cover shipping and a bit more tho

There's the top you'll note I re-arranged a bit

The outher 2 coyotes doing well are in a little shade and cof exp DOSENT wanna grow just yet but semi early I think

And the DIY farm with strawberries that actually are germinating! As well as everything super leggy so I moved it on top of the big greenhouse to try to cut down on some future leggy ness just hope I don't kill the peppers that way

Well guys enjoy nap time then off to work for me!

Some good news and more seedling pics

If you can see that's a minguette strawberry seed it's great news that it's coming! Maby it needed more dark and that's all?

Wow way worse a pic then I thought we've just got peppers and strawberries to pop up on here 2 beans are up as are the lettuces and carrots tho there all kinda leggy ATM I may grab the stones out and re-do it later after this batch

General pic spam time?

Looking about time to seperate some into Dixie's but I'm like out of space to play with luckily can wait a bit yet

That's all in the little greenhouse time for the big eh?

The unknown fruits and mostly dead stuff on bottom

A LOT are defo coming back from last years if lol I could remember what they were now

The bay is defo going back out this summer it's alive but not too happy being inside but I think I'll buy it a couple buddies this year gotta sore what I'll have where defo and I have to get the official "list" from millaegers as well to what they'll have so I can start planning

Hopefully next week we will get my room cleaned out and I can get the aldis red solo cups (thinking 2-3 pkg of them) and I also think I'll need to get a bucket to make dirt in as well as buying more dirt (expand-n-grow I love it for inside it's all I'm doing to start my seeds!) some are getting about where I'd like to transplant but none are where they need and I'll prolly wait till most are ready anyway make it easyier on me hopefully this year I don't overdo like I did last year that was defo too much mixed with working

Cof exp part 2

We made some more cof tonight so I have 4 more kcups to play with! An unused cof 2 used cof and a chai so all 4 to be fair have the same seeds in (gansania and orange/red marigolds there ones I harvested a couple years back) that way they should all do everything about the same time

Sorry thought was better pic -- here's all 4 of them after a little watering the unused in the back rejecting the water and the lower chai also not liking so much water at all

To tell them apart I marked all stripes on the 2 that were used (left) and some stripes on the unused (right) and simply wrote chai on the chai

All the cof experiment are sitting in the water on the mat

Also I got a list of things I'm having trouble with apart from my tulsi basil note: I typed this with the intent to paste on some Facebook places but my iPhone wants to act up so I'll post here so I can copy later ok?

Exact not coming up are: old rosemary (95) guava pomegranate goji hot cherry bomb pepper white grape Concord grape (from the first 2 flats those coyote tomatoes have 1/3" true leaves or so ATM) and of the later planted: chia honey mesquite strawberries (good sign tho the ones planted before have one with seed leaves) passion fruit cherimoya sugar apple luffa Hopi yellow watermelon and prickly pear that's most of flat 3 only 1 reg mesquite and the corn are up on that one -- also most planted about the same time flat 4: early signs of germ on: Peter pepper 1 blue fruit tomato sweet mini pepper chili chili mat jang (a market pepper) marble pepper germ def on: hundreds and thousands tomato fish pepper and a single chili chili and nothing from the holy red and green basil of that flat the last 6 were later that includes the 2 varieties of cat grass that are up and thriving! The clearly germinating cilantro and the pineapple sage culantro and old rosemary that ATM are not showing signs of germination that I easily see

Ok hope the fonts back that looks smaller to me lol as you can see it really is just a variety of things and really it could just be that I haven't given them enough time to come up tho I think most of the flats have been for atleast a couple weeks (feels like a month or more but I'm in zone 5 and I've got my stuff going way way early! Lol) so I've decided to try covering everyone up I'll defo keep an eye on them no doubt

There's the top row (I've sence decided to move the car grass down) the ones I don't even see signs of germination are getting covered and I'm hoping for the best

Here's the 2nd row example

The whole thing --you can kinda see storage on bottom? That's only because I goofed with the instructions so I could have a rack higher up

A quick glance over at the big greenhouse

My overall setup ATM I do intend to move the location (still inside lol as a foot or more of snow outside!)

And the auto adjust focused on the bottom of the little greenhouse --they defo need some movement because not everyone can get from that one light source and I don't have space for another (even another daylight cfl!)

Coffe experiment

I didn't wanna give this too specific a name but I may start calling it the k-cup experiment

The premise? We use keurig coffe makers (mostly our vue but we still have plenty of k-cups as well from that system we also had a tassimo which was just to test I don't recall how those pods came apart) somewhat often and I know coffe grounds add nitrogen to gardens/dirt (actually some Starbucks stores have pails "grounds for gardeners" or that most of the ones I've seen there near the door on the floor if anyone wanted to try? Note: they likely still have the filters from brewing) as well as being very fine and fairly airy so would they make good seed starting mediums as well?

Ok not as good as I thought but here's what I'm starting with a standard size vue pod (not a travel!) this is from a med roast Starbucks coffe if that's any difference and a k-cup you may notice most don't have those ridges I personally don't know why there there just our gevallia pods have them we do have the adapter and because of that both were in fact brewed in the vue (I'll go on about them later lol)

So in the vue I decided to try the tulsi basil again (it dosent seem to want to germinate) that's odd most basil gets a gel coat when wet this one isn't -- and in the k-cup I have lemon grass something I know does grow and quite well at that so that will be more control compared to tulsi more experiment tho there both experiments

Ok so my coffe maker spiel as I said I have experience with the keurig vue k-cup and the tassimo system and I must say the vue is my favourite of the 3 we imitally got the k-cup (special edition yup they still have it) and I liked it tho I like mom had some complaints ex: only sizes are 6 8 and 10 oz also only had a few settings but great as an intro then later we found the tassimo for 15 at some persons sale well I had to get it esp as was still in the box more/less I did find that it wouldn't brew withought the lower tray and it was quirky I liked that itd use something like real milk where keurig uses powdered and the tassimo worked great I think but it only made one size (dep it reads bar codes and you can't "play" like you can the keurigs) then later we got the vue it does 2 oz incriments between 4 and 12 so many more it also has settings for nearly everything and frothier type cups (still powder) so it can make cappuccinos and that that tassimo could but k-cup couldn't

If you have questions on any of these systems or on anything I use feel free to email me sakura0garden@gmail.com I'll defo get back to you!

Lettuce coming --everyone looking good

Mostly a pic post --I decided to water the Dixie's today because some weren't looking super well and I got a couple suprises

The lettuce is germinating!  I'm suprised! And so are some of the carrots tho I'm not seeing anything with the strawberries which I don't know about (namely because my strawberries aren't coming up eighter)

It also looks like I have a goji seedling coming up! YAY! It's been ages sence I had anything in there lol

I hope y'all can see I also noticed the verigated and to a much lesser extent the reg catharsis have grown roots right they the egg cartons! WOW!

It also looks/sounds like next week I'll be trying to clean out my room and this "area" so I can move everything over there but I'll have to buy another heating mat and maby even a bit more then that to keep temps up and humidity up as well so hopefully everyone can be moved into Dixie's and be put on plates or be put in peat pots and everything tagged to what's what somehow so I can still use the plates (or I may just go right from Dixie to plastic type cup with holes punched in the bottom from the start tho I may need a few packs lol (guessing I'll have a hundred plus seedlings) defo want enough that everyone gets there own and I'll defo be trying to harden off some by then too but all depends and I'll need an easy enough way to take inside and outside lol

See what I mean?

Also here's the sheet from the recession gold experiment (some of mine knocked over so I'm hoping for the best!)

That's the little greenhouse I think it's doing really well! I also put some pitcher plant seeds in next to the "DIY farm" thing

And the big one?

Got some new seedlings coming up and some of these are getting hit/miss but I'm also letting them dry out a bit more
