Quick update

While I was over by the greenhouses my phone was charging on my computer as normal for me playing Pandora

My life has been kinda crazy lately and I'm guessing it's gonna only be more so as time goes on --Carson decided he wanted to pop my bed so after enough bull I think it's finally fully fixed! It's atleast holding air better then it WAS after my 3rd fix so that's fun

Then as normal 2 stores owned by the same company with an identity crisis (office max/depot) have the same thing at 2 totally different prices so I snatched up some

There's the name "perch" what I have are white I've seen tags for a "slate" and seen turquoise at staples and here's some usage examples:

Now obviously we know me so I'm intending mostly plants with them or some mix plants and organisation have to see what happens

And an example of the prices mine were all about 50% off I got: 3 backs 2 squats 2 of the mini 2 long and the 5 pack starter (that was a mess to get!) so I should be ok for starting out

The 5 pack we went to a nearby store after another store said they had a ton and they were clearance --they had them but weren't marked down at first they said "proof of price" would match and I said they were like half off then with reciept they refused after saying that would be ok as proof --another store ended up matching it tho oddly

So yea called another store and honestly I'm stunned the employees don't know the name of the brands or that that they carry that person was honestly starting to piss me off reminded me of the time I called target looking for I think citric acid "by the canning stuff from ball" "like canned goods" yea because canned tomatoes and soups are the same section as plates and bowls and all of that! And I bet that both those people are paid more then I get paid!

So with that lets get back to gardening!

Look what I found at wallmart! It was mixed in with the seed starting flats! A dollar each! Previously they've been 2-3 bucks each!

So in those I got:
Zuichinni
Broccoli
Lemon basil
Cilantro
Spinach
Eggplant

And if you remember the ones I planted last year were a little older yet they did spectator ally! That one tomato really FAUGHT! So I suggest trying these

In addition I got: 2 packs of moss roses and a rainbow mix coleus thinking those would be good for the perch

While I was by the greenhouses I also played with some plants I recently got: I have 3 strawberries that look alive 7 that aren't doing anything by looks yet a pineberry that's not doing much by looks and 2 kiwi and a cranberry that look so much better!

A few days ago I got the plants at meijer they were packed up in boxes some looked dead and of what was very picked over these seemed the best but before I left the store on camera I'm seen watering them from the bubbler they weren't just dry they were nearly BONE dry! So I don't think they'll have lasted much longer today is a complete turnaround

And seedling update? There's a few that aren't up yet but the rest are getting on ready to start getting pulled out and some I want a couple true leaves first (the cotton is doing well fast! As is some of the corn!)

Sase offer

It's certainly the time of year to think about planting around here so I'm gonna put this back up (not that it ever left)

Here's how this works: you send me a "self addressed stamped envelope" some like bubble envelopes which you put the return address and postage (as stamps) inside or you can PayPal me a dollar (.50 is left after fees which are insane!) all of which is assuming you are in the states if elsewhere you'll have to contact me for info

As such the seeds have been stored well and I'll need to know what you want but they won't allways be the newest

Included are:
Greek oregano
Thai basil
Green basil
Acorn squash (a note: all squashes are from farmers market fruit there's no promise they won't be pig melons)
Spagiti squash
Apple pepper
Red/orange marigold
Cantelope
Catnip
Mint (I'm not specifying because I let a few plants go to seed)
Ganzania
Carnival acorn squash
Indigo rose tomato
Currant tomato
Thyme
Crackerjack marigold
Gloriosa daisy
Shirley poppy
Baby's breath
Pink/purple/white batchelor buttons
Cosmos
Helichrysum
Sunflower mix
Morning glory mix
Cottage mix
Radish mix
Sage
Raspberries

That's just a quick look I'm sure I could dig up more if there's anything you'd like to ask me about (note: you say you "need" something I won't give you anything as nobody needs any specific plants)

Questions? Want the address to mail to? Email me at sakura0garden@gmail.com note: that's not my PayPal if you were gonna send and have me mail off email me and I'll get it to you

More sprouts-n-pics

These first few pics are from yesterday and today was a bad day for me so I'm glad to be back by my garden area (city hall is only open till 4 5 even 6 would be more reasonable to me 4 is too early!) which led to enough bs (lied about another place I could go then another I went wasn't open and yea I'm annoyied)

First is some corn

Part 1 of big flat
Right now what I see growing is:
Brown cotton
Zavory pepper
Windowbox basil
Aloe
Basil
Sage
Green/purple basil

Part 2 of the big tray and what I see growing here:
Cape gooseberry tomatillo
Purple tomatillo

Part 3 of the big flat here I see: ganzania con volvus enchantment
Spring flower mix

Verigated cat grass starting to root and come up

Some corn

The container corn is being slow to come up granted it was saved nearly 4 years ago but so was the rest of what I have same age or older so I could have picked it early or who knows --but I'm trying to get a good all around corn that does well in a container in my climate so it's truly an "experiment" but I want the kernels to look pretty too and if I grow a few things close in containers we will see what happens after a few generations

My lemon --I gave it a little tug and it felt like it was holding but when I added more water it came right out so I don't quite know what to think there but I think I see buds which to me means it's fighting like I am

Moonflower pulled from the big tray

Little tray what I see up here:
Broom corn (could be molasses(?)
Cilantro
Greek oregano
Cotton
Dwarf basil
Oriental poppy
Carnation

Few things together under the light (today's pics) can see: lemon corn money plant luffa and cat grass (that I added reg to as well thinking would be pretty to see)

Corns

Big flat hope the panorama came out ok

Little flat

Moonflower

I think this is a basil? It was between areas in the big flat so I'm possibly doing the worst thing to try to save it lol

And if you look carefully you'll see I finally added a vent hole to the top of the little greenhouse! Bout time! It should be just enough to let off excess humidity and I can throw tape on it later to close it up too

Cheak-up

While I was packing up seeds for a swap box I decided to take a status of my seedlings and such everyone's looking pretty good so far --but I think I may have marked molasses as broom corn lol we will see as it grows it was just a "for the fun of it" anyway and that's why you have to mark what everything is WHEN you save it!

First off the corn (I've decided to leave most tops off)

Earth tones and Indian

My 2012 container experiment you can see some are starting

Blue popcorn

The large one and some cotton is coming up along with basil

The little and the height on the molasses/broom corn is part of why I took the lid off only outher really coming up is basil in here too

Quick shot of the layers me trying to get light to everything --again it's mostly closed greenhouse open seed flats extra water in the one with the heater and I also reset my light timer to being on 16 hours (it's an ikea one so easy to use was 2/5 when I got and I say well worth!)

First few things are sprouting and I finally finished planting! Note: these pics are from 2 days or so ago

First order to attend: the moonflower were getting really leggy (long/thin) so I pulled them out and threw some clover seed in the thing with them don't really know why was thinking more like dirt once it starts to grow

Then my aloe

The dragonfruit/aloe that I think is doing really well

Big flat you can see where the moonflower was and its mostly Basil's that are starting to come up

The little flat lid on

And the big flat with the lid on

The lemon was starting to get what looked like a little mood so I tore a hole in trying to untapped the ziplock and sprayed my fishwater/water/mouthwash mix and put it in the little greenhouse --I still say it looks like it's fighting and as long as it's fighting I'll fight to keep it alive!

Decided to take the top off the corn help boost the humidity (there's like an inch of water you can see thru in the bottom of those cups)

Then the last little thing for today is I was out at staples yesterday and found cheap led bulbs daylight spectrum! I got 4 to test 2 40 watt and 2 60 watt total was 12 bucks! There sheet said 23.8 years being used for 3 hours a day (who really only has a light on for 3 hours?) so I did some math (3x365.25=y then yx23.8=z z was the total hours it would run after that z/16=q then q/365.25=t which was 4.something saying it would last me 4 years on my 16 hour timer which is what I normally have it set at) found out was 4 years for me not the 28 it claims luckily I know better then to think it will last the 28 years it will claim and I know to read the packaging

Few more planted before work

I'm presently on break about to end but they don't seem to have much issue with longer breaks here which is nice at times

Anyway I planted most of the larger flat and am trying to sort what else to plant before it's been too long

Pineapple on top of the little greenhouse that thing is TOUGH and I'm glad it's still alive

Little tray between aloe and dragon fruit (with some aloe in there)

And the big tray on the heating pad sharing it with corn

This is half Indian corn and half earth tones dent corn --pretty looking corn

Ones from my 2012 container experiment outhers blue popcorn

There's the stuff in the big greenhouse --look closely the resurrection plants are open and ready to grow I'll bet!

And what I planted in the big tray --I have about 11 spaces left and I think I'm gonna do another cup with dirt/water so I can do some cat grass inside (verigated I think it looks so pretty!) so if you have suggestions? Or I'll pick random or do peppers  or something

Well time to plug my phone in and get back to work next: pulling trashes lol atleast every day is a full body workout now!
