Pre-hardening

Some are well past ready to harden and some still need some time so general greenhouse update 

First off I was at gfs last week and they had a 60 pack of translucent cups for what was like 4 cents a cup I think 2.50 a pack? Seemed cheap but not overly as a pack but seeing the 4 cents I had to get one! I prolly will only throw them in storage till I start seeds or try bringing stuff in but I'll still have them when I need/want them 

Also a bit back I was looking at target "shits and giggles" mostly trying to find a kids toy for Jen (I really think there tougher then dog toys that rip apart in 2 minutes (really had one just do that!) and cost 9+ bucks kids toys on clearance may cost less and should last atleast as long or longer I think just gotta watch eyes and that lol --so anyway I stumble across a 70 pack of 9-pocket pages TEN BUCKS! That's the cheapest I've seen normally like 5-10 for 2-3 bucks if I recall (it's at office max) so I got 2 of them lol 

So what else? Oh yea on Saturday I got called into work cause our new girl was sick and honestly I can't believe she has been there as long as I've been back from medical leave and it seems she is still making mistakes she dosent know the "basic" menu least she didn't know what a patty melt was lol (actually it sounds kinda good lol) if you don't know it's Swiss on grilled rye with hamburger in it and I'm trying to be careful lol not to say too much it was kinda crazy on Saturday and somehow the drawer was off too no clue how tho 

So on to my gardens? My rasberry looks wonderful and I think my cuttings all but 1 appear to be taking! I didn't expect any of them to if I'm honest so that's a suprise! (One broke multiple times) 

And inside I think most are looking good too 

First off let me say 

Apart from the legginess that's what I'd expect on day 3-5 with the bombs not week 3?! But can you see how much of it's coming up on/for me? We will see if this batch gets anywhere I'm not expecting much lol

The sunflowers aren't up yet but the aloes are! I'm shocked all of them are up! I thought one wouldn't make it up but wow! I may actually order those things when I actually have money but the ones I want lol or try to find them clearanced because I'm suprised with them (mind you that's a warm greenhouse!) 

Quick view on 2nd shelf --do y'all like the panaromas? They will be a little "goofy" 

My garlic/chives looks not as we'll but alive seems 2 years could be it's limits but I'm still suprised how we'll it has done there's also a birdhouse gourd in there a German chamomile and sprouting is an achient sweet pepper that I'm gonna try to keep inside unless it starts really progressing fast there's also a mint sprout in there

The bomb again and hot cherry bomb (tons of webbing maby you can see? On the under side) and an apple pepper seedling that I think will get me atleast a few seeds this year so I have fresh too

I also had my recession gold tomato up there I think it needed the break from the little greenhouse it's looked better but I think it's a little better 

Initially I just turned it around and added the sunberry 

But by the time I was done I added the hot cherry bomb (which is showing signs it's gonna flower!) and the apple (possible) baby! 

Early look outside

So I took a good early look outside and I'm THRILLED with what I see! I think this will be a good year as long as I remember last years lesson "don't go INSANE!" 

That guy I knew would survive it's an ever bearing raspberry (I candig out the name if you like?) I did try to adjust the shape some so it wouldn't rub or do anything to the grill and what I cut I decided to just stick in the dirt if it don't work then it don't work nothing lost 

It survived not this but last winter in about a 12" clay and it did fine telling me this would be fine as was in a larger pot 

Another tough one that we thought would survive was the peony if you look there's bits of red in there (it's an in progress bed) that thing if I recall survived such abuse before we finally planted it that I'm still confident it can withstand about anything 

The goji I was more unsure of because of the winter 

But even in spite of a broken pot that I desperately need to replace 

Somehow it's still ALIVE! And the outher ones still as flexible (this was the sweeter plant!) so I'm confident that one will be back too!

The salsa garden (think I'm gonna do another this year not certain) 

So as y'all can see I have a lot of cleaning up to do --the stores ARE starting to sell the plants too now BUT I am in this nasty habit of not planting anything outside till June which actually has a method by then if anything like the raspberries and goji or even catnip or anything I had last year is coming back I'll be able to identify the seedlings so I can know to save one year i cleaned early and had a million and one dandelion seedlings which I wasn't too pleased with right now I'm leaving most of what where as any may be on top so it needs to germinate or return for me to see it 

ATM I'm planning on replacing the busted goji planter maby buying another goji and having 3 in there then doing my mini jungle (boxwood basil maby even some reg mixed too and coarsican mint under it)  and using the current plastic goji to go get another fruit also buying more for more different fruits I want a yellow raspberry a pink and blue blueberry and I'm thinking of a couple grapes as we'll I'll defo have to learn "how" to care for the plants ATM I'm letting the gojis go crazy if I transplant them I'll let them go then maby start shaping them some next year depends how they look 

Also a quick update on my foot: it's healed up but I have an irritated ligament (that's STILL irritated!) it's really not painfull we'll possible tear we will see in time I was shot with "something" and I think between it and the compression sock thing and the brace my foot would not stop bugging me last night 2 hours in I had the brace off and at the end of the night I took the sock thing off after my rather annoying drive home I put an ace wrap on (I typically have about 4 of them in my car) and that ATM seems like my best option it atleast seems kinder in the little time I've had it on --was walking in the garden taking these pics with it on 

Also the doc said yet again that I must have a high pain tolerance called me a "tough cookie" as we'll the ligament may be torn (to do what I did to my foot it's possible mores damaged as we'll so now he knows to watch that stuff) I still swear it wasn't much worse then a pressure like my bone was pushed a little to the side it really didn't hurt and it's defo more annoying sence the injection and that! Hopefully will be better sooner! 

More bombs!

So I'm finally planting the 2nd batch of bombs dunecraft sent me I'm doing these differently 

You can't see it too we'll but I covered the things in water no dirt just water all 12 the 6 on the right are herbs the ones on left are grass (I do plan on getting another monster) 

And I noticed the basil was coming up I am so tempted to throw some of my basils in there but I'll save the domes and re-use them I think lol 

In addition most look like they may be doing well tho my coyotes don't look so good peppers seem to love it tho! 

Nothing to report on the maricle grow things but I added more water I guess if not satisfied in 6 months mail reciept you'll get cash back or "something" but who saves them that long? They do say garonteed to grow on them too lol 

I'm calling most of those attempted seeds a loss for varying reasons these are the only few still left we will see how they do 

Another experiment and an update

Have you heard of those seed-plant packs? Have the seeds and fert in them? (I've only seen them at target) well I found some 60 cents! Got one of each yet to see if the outhers do that too or not got a tomato a pepper and lettuce they were out of the spinach and that tomato while open package was the last one --I don't intend them outside as I don't think you could plant the tomato or pepper at a good time in this zone to go outside (I start my seeds before supplies even comes out) so we will see how they grow (they say "garonteed to grow" and they are maricle grow type I have the tops lol if dunecraft has taught me ANYTHING it's SAVE PACKAGING! You never know what info you'll need lol 

Speaking I got some plant pal things from dunecraft allegedly to cover the 2 bucks postage (because they had a pic to prove and they still couldn't send money?!) so as I don't trust them I'm starting them NOW so in a month when there still not growing I can pound down them and be "wtf?!" Who knows maby they'll remember me by then? Seems it's too hard for them to care anyway (oh we'll I contacted the bbb on them will see if anything happens because it should NOT take 4 months (ok 3 jan 21 to April 10) to send a clear package them NOT put enough postage on it when it's clear it needs more!--and in that time they stopped replying a few times!) 

So on to the pics? 

Right up front those things from dunecraft there's: coleus aloe basil and sunflower (I had 0 choice) I also have to try to get bomb set 2 going (oddly the herb one didn't have a tag the rest of the stuff did tho) 

That shows some of the planting things I was talking about 

And that shows all 3 of them (bottom) I nolonger have any clue what was what lol but I know when they grow I'll be able to tell them apart 

The sunberry is doing well 

And some of those peppers are doing so well I think I should start a few in/for the greenhouse life see how that goes and such 

That beans going outside this year before I attempt to re-grow the kit tho I may just use my own dirt instead 2nd time around 

I think the pineapple that I like just got is doing pretty well even tho some leaves are resting lower and I'm intentionally under watering try to get better roots 

Some of the avacadoes appear to be trying to root! Defo excited about getting the plants! 

I don't recall if the 3 or 4 had more rooting I know the big shows no sign of rooting and 1 of the smaller is exact same way 

My aloe --hopefully semi soon I'll have more aka some from my uncle his LOVE his care lol 

My bay I'm thinking that I'm gonna have to replace it this year which really is annoying but isn't suprising 

There "Eco friendly" "biodegradable" pots from Joann's the "claim" is 5 bucks each but I'd never pay that 10.51 after tax at 60% sale which while sounding expensive actually isn't too terrible as there were 5 --the green are the only to "include" drainage holes which is part of why the bay is double stacked 

Oh outside I see clear signs of the raspberry coming back I also see signs my goji may be back this year! I really hope so! Looking foreward to it!
