Let me first say once it's better out I think the plants will look better but here's why you don't do what I did

The day after they look generally ok 

And today they look pretty poor overall that's why you are advised to do a little at a time till there ready 

It's also been 50 windy and felt chilly to me lately not too "sunny" which is what they know (daylight bulb on on them)
